In the summer of 2004, Nir Bachar and Guy Bachar (no relation), opened the doors to the first Imperial Tile & Stone location in the North Hollywood district known as “Tile Row.” We started out by selling Ceramic TilesPorcelain TilesPorcelain SlabsPorcelain Slabs, Quartz Slabs and Natural Stones such as LimestoneMarble and Granite.

Within a few short years, Imperial Tile & Stone quickly expanded and now has 3 beautiful showrooms in North Hollywood, West Hollywood and Gardena, California. As you might guess, as Imperial grew, so did our stock of tile and now we have one of the largest available selections of Glass and Stone Mosaics from around the world.

We are passionate about interior design and only have a taste for the most exceptional products.

Everything in our collection has been hand-selected for its superior quality. Whether we are choosing materials from Italy because we are looking for beautiful and durable lines of tile or importing unique handmade tile and mosaics from Spain, you can be assured that our team has found the very best.

We even own and operate a tile factory right here in Southern California to ensure that if the tile you are dreaming of doesn’t exist, we can make it! We have an incredible team of artists to design and handcraft these tiles. We manufacture brands such as B & W Vintage, Ken Mason Tile and Kathy Ireland Essentials Tile.

The Imperial Experience:

Our whole team is comprised of people, who not only know tile but love tile.  We understand that each and every project is different, so nothing at our stores is one size fits all. When you come into our store, you will work with one of our floor representatives who will help you with design ideas, tile information and anything else you may need. No tile project gets left behind at Imperial Tile & Stone!

To make sure that our staff is always up to date on the latest trends and stock, we have regular team meetings where we train everyone on new products and share ideas with each other. These product knowledge meetings are some of our favorite days here—tile trends and new ideas galore!

At Imperial Tile & Stone, we are truly a family. We have both team members and customers who have been with us for ten or more years. If you want to join this tile loving family, all you need to do is give us a call or stop by one of our stores. Any friend of tile, is a friend of ours!

Team Member Spotlight:

There are few projects more personal than renovating your home—after all your home should be a reflection of your style, your personality and your taste. Our team is here to help you create that specific vision. Meet one of our stellar designers, Star Derparseghian, below!

(If possible, I think it would be great to embed this video here: https://www.instagram.com/p/B3zfzGaJcXM/)

Star has been with us for more than 5 years now. She started out as a floor representative and now manages our West LA location. She also has her own interior design firm! (Which means you will always get amazing design ideas and advice from her) She also works with our artist team to create custom, handcrafted tile.

Here are just what a few of our customers had to say about working with Star.

Check out our Q & A with Star:

How long have you been working with Imperial Tile? What roles have you had there?  I’ve been with Imperial tile for 5 years now and I’ve worn a few hats throughout the years. I started out working in sales and eventually moved into management. Now I run our West LA location and have an Interior design firm and offer design services as well.

How did you get into the business? About 12 years ago, I was going through a very difficult time after losing my mother. My creative flow took a hard hit and I stopped doing all design for our family jewelry business. I felt I needed to make a change in my life. I took a chance and decided to start something new and found myself in the tile and interior design industry. It was the best decision of my life! It is amazing how something so beautiful from such a dark time of my life.

What do you love most about your job? My connection with clients! Having the ability to be creative and design such amazing spaces then get to see them come to life will NEVER get old. I also love being able to educate my clients, which isn’t found with most tile industry people. I’m very strong on my product knowledge and because of that I find it very helpful for the consumer to truly understand the product they are purchasing.

Tell us about a favorite project or design that you have worked on. Oh boy there are so many… but my favorite ones so far have been the ones where my clients give me full control of the tile selection then getting to see their faces when they saw how beautiful their renovation turned out. Also getting to work on houses before hitting the market to make them even more awesome has been so fun. The last one I will talk about was designing my own tile line for our sister company, Ken Mason Tile. I’ve gone to art school and have a background in painting and animation so being able to play with paint and make it a career is definitely a highlight.

What makes Imperial Tile & Stone different from other stores? Imperial is extremely unique because of the attention we give our clients. They are our first priority in everything we do. We also have a very beautiful product lineup which makes it even better for our clientele. The combination of the service we provide and the product makes us stand out in the sea of tile shops.
